Superior sound.

The Studio 1824c operates at up to 192 kHz for ultra-high-definition recording and mixing. High-quality converters on every input and output and eight of PreSonus’ professional-grade XMAX mic preamps enable you to capture complex musical harmonics smoothly and naturally, with no audible distortion. XMAX mic preamps are known the world over for their ability to deliver incredibly high headroom, deep lows, smooth highs, and a rich overall sound so you’ll hear every breath, transient, and detail in your recordings.

Learn more about XMAX preamps.

For over 20 years, PreSonus has been a leader in high quality microphone design for audio interfaces. The Studio 1824c interface includes eight custom-design, high-voltage, Class A XMAX preamps with discrete components for accuracy and transparency.

XMAX preamplifiers are built with three key elements:

Class A. Class A circuits have no crossover distortion and deliver purer, clearer, and more musical results than the Class AB designs that are found in many preamps.

High Voltage. The XMAX preamplifier runs on power rails of 30V. Most off-the-shelf, op-amp-based designs run on power rails of 10V to 18V. Higher-voltage power rails deliver more headroom, deeper lows, smoother highs, and a richer overall sound.

Discrete components. We only use genuine transistors, resistors, and capacitors rather than use op-amps that can add noise, coloration, and harshness to a signal. Our discrete design delivers ultra-low noise and transparency.

The net result of the XMAX preamp design is high headroom, low noise, wide dynamic range, extended frequency response, and—most important—musicality and transparency.

Learn more about Studio 1824c’s integration with PreSonus software.

The Studio 1824c integrates tightly with included Studio One® Artist music production software and free UC Surface control software. The Studio 1824c features an onboard DSP mixer that can be controlled from within Studio One Artist. Set individual levels and pan using Studio One's unique Z-Mix feature to create low-latency monitor mixes without leaving your recording environment. You can remote-control monitor mixes using free PreSonus UC Surface touch-control software—or download Studio One Remote on your tablet and remote control your entire production environment!

Stress-free recording.

Professional tools make any job easier. That’s why we included professional input and output metering on the Studio 1824c, allowing you to keep an eye on your input and mix levels while running your session. Easy-to-use DSP monitor mixing lets you create four discrete near-zero-latency monitor mixes, enough for even the largest ensembles. All line-level outputs are also DC coupled, enabling them to send control voltages. Front-panel Mute, Mono, and level controls let you work with your main mix.

Learn more about the Studio 1824c’s versatile I/O configuration.

The Studio 1824c’s 18-in, 20-out I/O configuration provides considerable versatility. With eight channels of ADAT Optical I/O (four channels at 96 kHz), you can expand the Studio 1824c with an 8-channel mic preamp with ADAT conversion, such as our premium-quality DigiMax DP88. In addition to L/R main outputs with front-panel Mute, Mono, and level controls, you get eight balanced line outputs for monitor mixing plus stereo S/PDIF digital I/O and two stereo headphone outputs. All line-level outputs are DC coupled, enabling them to send control voltages. The onboard DSP lets you create four stereo near-zero latency monitor mixes using Studio One or UC Surface. A BNC word clock output enables synchronization with other digital devices. And of course the Studio 1824c is a MIDI interface.

Wherever sound takes you.

Whether you're upgrading your studio or building a new space for your band to record, the Studio 1824c has you covered with superior mic preamps, expandable inputs, and powerful, easy-to-use onboard monitor mixing to give you the world-class results you want. While it’s a perfect companion for any recording software, the Studio 1824c combines with the included Studio One Artist to provide a complete, affordable recording solution that will make you sound great.
