Studio One 6 deepens the integration between your Studio One sessions and your PreSonus Sphere Workspaces with convenient sharing options right from the drop-down menu. PreSonus Sphere Workspaces allow you to archive sessions and invite others to collaborate on them… even friends who haven’t yet joined PreSonus Sphere or aren’t even Studio One users!

New in 6.1! Live collaboration notifications
The User Profile Menu introduced with Studio One 6 has been expanded into a powerful notification center. Every new upload, new song, new version, and Workspace invitation is instantly viewable in the User Panel, so you don’t have to log out of Studio One and into your email to find out if one of your bandmates uploaded a new version of a shared song.

Mastering Improvements

New in 6.1! Project Templates
Speed up your workflow when mastering by using templates to quickly change your working environment. The new Project Templates allow you to save your preferred main mastering effects chain, including external hardware processors connected via Pipeline. You can even store predefined album metadata.

New in 6.1! Album mode for target loudness
Maintain full control over the loudness of your album tracks while still meeting the required loudness standard. The new "Album Mode" for Digital Releases on the Project Page analyzes loudness for each track then optimizes loudness equally to all tracks to preserve the relative loudness between tracks rather than setting all the tracks of an album to the same target loudness.

Global Video Track

A new way to add sound to picture.

The all-new Global Video Track provides an intuitive video workflow thanks to the familiar drag and drop functionality that made Studio One famous. Need to cut together a quick edit or streamline your podcast workflow? No problem. Basic editing features for the Video Track are also available.

New in 6.1! View timecode inside the video player
Studio One’s video window now offers an optional large timecode display. Timecode format can be selected from frames, bars, seconds, or samples and is displayed beneath the video viewer, keeping the video image clear of distracting overlays. Even better, the size of the timecode display follows the size of the video window.

Smart Templates

Faster Starts.

New Smart Templates provide essential toolsets for the tasks at hand, including basic recording, mixing stems, mastering an album, and setting up for a live show. Play an instrument or produce a podcast with a single click. Use the convenient drop zone to easily import audio, video, and MIDI files. Interactive tutorials are even included with select templates.

New in 6.1! Drop Zones support for video
Video files can now be imported using the Drop Zone for select Smart Templates. Import a single video, or drag in multiple clips at once, and they will be aligned in sequence on the Video Track when your session opens. Now it’s faster than ever to set up a session for composing audio to video.

Customization Editor

Just the tools you need.

The new Customization Editor provides a convenient and easy way to show or hide nearly every tool and function. Changes are applied instantly, so you can show or hide any feature as needed to create a streamlined, focused workflow for the task at hand.

New in 6.1! Create custom colors
Take control over channel, track and event colors! Change any color cell to your taste using a convenient color picker, or numeric RGB, HSL, or Hex values to create custom color palettes that can be stored, loaded, and shared on PreSonus exchange. We’ve even included a few presets derived from other DAWs.

Track Presets

Save and recall snapshots of your favorite track setups.

Take your workflow efficiency to a new level! Store every aspect of a given track or channel for instant recall, even for multiple selected tracks/channels. Track Presets store parameters like track delay, time-stretch, follow chords as well as Channel parameters like volume, pan, inserts, send assignments, and more! Track Presets can even be applied to existing channels.

Tame vocal sibilance and other high-frequency sounds.

The new De-esser plug-in in Studio One is efficient and intuitively easy to use. Find the problematic frequency with the Listen button, then dial in the amount of S-Reduction using the associated knob together with the S-Mon function.

A creative playground like no other.

Combine two input signals to create an entirely new sound processed by an array of bandpass filters. Turn your voice or any audio source into a unique synth or effect. Vocoder will inspire you to play with audio.

New in 6.1! A pink noise algorithm has been added for more variety in tone colors.

An indispensable tool for producers and mixing engineers.

ProEQ now allows each frequency band to be soloed, so you can easily hear even the most surgical adjustments in isolation. In addition to solo, each band now features a dynamic mode to trigger boosts or cuts of the desired frequency band dynamically based on a set amplitude threshold.

New in 6.1! Solo mode is now available for shelf filters.

Advanced Mixer with Fader Flip

Supercharged mixing.

Control FX/Bus sends, sidechains, and Cue Mix sends all from the main faders. Just right-click on the desired send and select “Flip" to control the entire send mix for the selected bus from the channel faders. Unassigned channels can be hidden from view or activated as needed.

Alternative Panning Modes

Flexible panning options for stereo channels.

You can now choose between balance, dual or binaural panning for any stereo channel. The new panner pop-up editor provides a large pan control, a context menu to switch between modes, plus dedicated controls for each mode. The basic balance control remains available in all mixer views, as well as a standard pan control for external hardware controllers.

Mixer Channel Overview

Focused views for individual channels.

The new Channel Overview provides a single, consolidated view of all channel parameters, including input controls, inserts, sends, and Cue Mix sends for the selected channel.

Pin the Channel Overview anywhere on any screen and it automatically follows the channel selection. Channel Overview is an ideal way to work on the sound of a single channel quickly and intuitively across multiple plug-ins without having to open a dedicated plug-in editor.

Browser Favorites and Folders

The Browser you love, just got better.

Organize plug-in and instrument presets into custom folders that you can create right inside the Browser. Presets for plug-ins and virtual instruments can now be marked as Favorites. Presets marked as Favorites are automatically mirrored inside a new “Favorites” folder at the top of the respective preset list.

Updated Start Page and so much more!

Studio One’s Start Page is now even more flexible. Organize your Songs, Projects, and Shows into custom folders allowing you to put all the files associated with a single artist or production in one convenient location. Pin favorites documents and view all your shared PreSonus Sphere documents in a single folder.

Producers and mixing engineers working with multiple artists can now manage and create a unique Artist Profile preset for each client. Each profile includes name, genre, website, and an image – all of which are embedded as ID3 tags when exporting a mixdown for streaming or digital download.

Other Notable Additions:

NEW! Sends on FX Channels, allowing the output signal of one effect to be sent to another.

NEW! Sidechain audio input for virtual instruments

NEW! Bus, FX and Cue Mix sends now have the option to link panning to the channel pan control. Cue Mix sends provide independent link options for Volume and Pan.

NEW! Micro view controls for third-party plug-ins

NEW! Track and Channel Icons

NEW! Spot option for Events offers a number of options for positioning Events on the timeline based on event attributes such as start/end points or their original timecode position.
